The platters I have sent to this exhibition mix several ceramic traditions. The first is, The Palace Art Pot. Palace Artwork Pots have been created to display wealth and ability. They ended up created to notify a tale, to commemorate an event or a man or woman, and to display talent and problem the skills of the artisans who created them. The second tradition is the Fish Platter. Fish platters were a staple of the Neo Arts and Crafts Motion of the 1950s and 60s. The 3rd and last custom is the A person-Line visual and verbal Pun, Platters of the ceramic Funk Movement.
Humor via the use of the visual pun was a mainstay of the California Funk motion. Humor in clay has a tradition as previous as the use of the content. I have generally felt that humor has been provided brief shift as a serious emotion. Artwork function that works by using humor and has been actively excised from collections of severe artwork. It may be that we do not understand the purpose of humor as properly as we fully grasp the function of the other thoughts.

I have attempted to change historic designs with objects decreased to sample. Some of the objects are extensions of my setting or reflections of own passions. My skills as A draftsman are constrained but feel to be enough for the form and good quality of graphic that the issue involves.
