The platters I have despatched to this exhibition blend a number of ceramic traditions. The initial is, The Palace Art Pot. Palace Art Pots ended up manufactured to reveal prosperity and electrical power. They were produced to notify a tale, to commemorate an occasion or a human being, and to show ability and problem the talents of the artisans who produced them. The 2nd custom is the Fish Platter. In the perform offered I have attempted to inject some humor into the ornamental / commemorative object. My talents as A draftsman are limited but seem to be adequate for the type and quality of image that the subject matter necessitates. The clay body, a purple earthenware, is intensely potted and makes no secrete of its variants and flaws. The glaze get the job done is in the Majolica fashion and is completed quite a lot like a watercolor on tender paper. The pots are fired 2 times. They are bisqued to cone 05 and glazed to cone 04.
