In 2011, the Affiliation of the Jewish Historical Institute of Poland collectively with the Museum of the Historical past of Polish Jews and Handshouse Studio initiated a distinctive palms-on instructional job: the reconstruction of the timber roof structure and polychrome wooden ceiling of the misplaced 17th-century wooden synagogue of Gwoździec The Gwoździec Re!construction venture included construction, painting, and academic workshops in 8 Polish cities where by learners worked shoulder-to-shoulder with an international workforce of historians, architects, artisans, and artists specializing in regular woodwork and polychrome portray.
