Gwoździec Re!development
In 2011, the Affiliation of the Jewish Historical Institute of Poland jointly with the Museum of the History of Polish Jews and Handshouse Studio initiated a special palms-on academic task: the reconstruction of the timber roof structure and polychrome wooden ceiling of the misplaced 17th-century picket synagogue of Gwoździec The Gwoździec Re!development venture bundled development, portray, and educational workshops in 8 Polish cities the place pupils labored shoulder-to-shoulder with an international team of historians, architects, artisans, and artists specializing in traditional woodwork and polychrome portray. They created a person of the centerpieces in the Main Exhibition. In 2011 in the course of the workshop in Sanok, individuals reconstructed the timber-framed roof. In the course of two years, 2011-2012, in 7 cities – Rzeszów, Kraków, Wrocław, Gdansk, Sejny, Kazimierz Dolny, Szczebrzeszyn they concluded painted vault. The workshops took place within the synagogue in each individual city. Community people have been invited to displays of the challenge and influenced to discover far more about the synagogue and Jewish previous of their very own city. At the commencing of 2013 the roof alongside one another with the ornamental ceiling were mounted within the museum’s developing.
