In 2011, the Affiliation of the Jewish Historic Institute of Poland jointly with the Museum of the Record of Polish Jews and Handshouse Studio initiated a special hands-on academic task: the reconstruction of the timber roof structure and polychrome wooden ceiling of the shed 17th-century picket synagogue of Gwoździec The Gwoździec Re!development challenge involved development, portray, and instructional workshops in eight Polish cities exactly where college students worked shoulder-to-shoulder with an intercontinental staff of historians, architects, artisans, and artists specializing in traditional woodwork and polychrome painting.
