Every village has about 15 to 20 homes. The Co Lao residences are crafted stage with the ground. A patriarchal process has been adopted. During pregnancy, Co Lao gals observe rigorous abstinence to facilitate shipping and delivery and to give balanced toddlers. In Dong Van District, folks incinerate the placentas of new born babies. The Co Lao language belongs to the Kadai Team. Ceremonies and festivals are held on the 3rd day of the 3rd lunar month, the 5th day of the 5th lunar thirty day period, the 15th day of the 7th lunar month, and the 9th day of the 9th lunar month. The Lunar New Yr Pageant is the major competition of the calendar year.
Males put on trousers like a lot of other ethnic teams about the northern borders. Females also put on trousers and a 5-panel gown operating underneath the knees. The gown buttons below the left armpit and is adorned with bands of distinct coloured fabric that are hooked up to the upper body from the middle to the appropriate armpit together a fringed slit.
The Co Lao apply terraced farming and develop maize in mountain rock hollows. Basketry and woodwork are well known handicrafts that are developed by this group. The Co Lao are also recognized for their bamboo mats, lattices, big winnowing baskets, panniers, tables, chairs, and horse saddles.
