Tunbridge Wells, Kent: The Martyrdom of King Charles

King Charles the Martyr, Tunbridge Wells, Kent

The equinox happened at 21:47 GMT, marking the point where light would begin to win over darkness. This also marked the end of the year, a time for reflection and mixed emotions. The narrator was on vacation, while Jools had half a day of work before going to a fancy place in Folkestone for lunch, drinks and wine with her colleagues. The narrator dropped her off at work and then set off on a mini-churchcrawl to photograph old churches. He went to Penshurst, which was built around Penshurst Place, Groombridge, and Tunbridge Wells. The latter was a richer town than Dover as there were three stores offering bespoke designer kitchens. The narrator was quizzed by a warden for photographing the church during a service, but he had no answer other than the fact that he enjoyed it. He then bought a Big Issue from a young man and gave him £5. He later picked up Jools and returned to work the following day.
