trestle table

This desk is the only challenge I have done that I didn’t screw up at some stage. The leading is produced from two bookmatched planks of cherry – just about every 18″ huge. There are 13 butterfly joints in the major to offer with some small splits. Prime is related with 4 dovetails on the major of each individual leg (trestle). When the two Wenge wedges are tapped into the via-tenons in the stretcher, the dovetails on the legs tighten into dovetail mortises slice into the prime.
The closest chair was made from a 3rd plank that was break up – the little butterfly joint at the entrance of the seat (an admitted style mistake) is from the similar block of Wenge as the wedges in the desk. The metal frames on this and the equivalent Rosewood chair on the left were created by a neighborhood blacksmith – Bear Mountain Forge.
