Tim in the Window

Tim Carney –my husband– created the oak frame for this astounding window. Barry Hood manufactured the stained glass and the two of them put in the window in a handful of several hours. The window is 8 feet tall. The window is centered on the primary architects’ drawings with some improvements produced to the style and design. For several years, the Grandstreet Theatre (our local community theater in an aged church) experienced a genuinely unappealing window here with frosted glass (like shower glass). This is SO significantly much better! Wow!

The stained glass is amazing in it truly is very own suitable and I am glad Tim thought of inquiring Barry to be the glass artist on this challenge. From an outside the house observer’s issue of see, the oak window body looked like even much more of a undertaking — I noticed the mathematical and style course of action closeup as Tim was figuring out how the heck to create this difficult wood construction to make it symmetrical, proportional and potent You just never see craftsmanship like this on lots of up to date properties. There are practically hundreds of tiny curved wooden areas in three levels, generating up the 7 smaller circles, the huge heart circle and the two arch designs in the corners. Figuring out how to make the wood body was a mathematical puzzler.
