The ReMix project is a creative way to repurpose old picture frames and give them new life. The project involved taking several old picture frames, some of which were mismatched and unframed, and transforming them into a cohesive, aesthetically pleasing display.
The materials list for the project includes repurposed frames purchased from Goodwill, a picture ledge from Ikea, and two cabinet doors also purchased from Ikea’s “As Is” department. Paint was also required – black flat spray paint, black chalkboard spray paint, and red paint.
The first step of the project involved repainting the original white matte colors blood red. The frames themselves were painted flat black, while the original light blue bases were transformed using the chalkboard paint. Finally, everything was hung on the wall with careful measurement to ensure a neat and balanced display.
The end result was an attractive, unified display that made a neat focal point for the room. The project only cost $58 in total, making it an affordable and environmentally-friendly way to repurpose old frames and create a unique piece of art.
