Ian is on the road again, heading to the north west for an audit at head office in Warrington. He is not keen on being audited instead of being the auditor but trudges on. After being dropped off by Jools at the prom, Ian takes a walk only to be met by the freezing temperatures of -3. He heads off to the car hire place and is slightly relieved when it finally opens. However, he is given a Toyota Yaris instead of an automatic car. Ian’s trip is not all business, he plans to visit a church steeped in history, St. Mary and All Saints in Fotheringhay, which was the parish church of the House of York, and home to several Kings including the final, Richard III.
On his way towards Manchester, Ian stops to visit a church in Titchmarsh just before calls from his friend, Teresa prompts him to head towards Warrington which starts off well until he is caught in a snowstorm which delayed him for an hour. After talking to Teresa for an hour, he gets a call from a guy he is supposed to be meeting up with to let him know heavy snow is falling and he should get to the hotel sooner than later. The last mile proves terrifying as the snow becomes very slippery and the fuel warning light comes on, but he eventually makes it to his destination, a golf resort.
In summary, the content is a travel log or diary entry about Ian’s trip to Warrington for an audit, his visit to St. Mary and All Saints in Fotheringhay, and a stopover in Titchmarsh before the snowstorm hits on his way to his destination, a golf resort.
