    This is the Joel White-made Bangor Packet, a sliding seat rowing wherry, below building in Instructor Bruce Blatchley’s Modern (wooden composite) class.

    We built the boat of three levels of slim veneers more than a basket mold. The boat, with its sliding seat, weighs about 100 lbs ..

    The boat has been taken off from the mould around which it was constructed and has been turned upright so that we can end the interior and install the decks.

    We crafted the boat of a few layers of thin veneers more than a basket mould. You can see the initially veneer layer, built of mahogany veneers, is in put. The second, or middle layer, of marginally thicker western purple cedar, is currently being measured and used.
