  • Northamptonshire’s St. Mary the Virgin Church in Titchmarsh

St Mary the Virgin, Titchmarsh, Northamptonshire

Ian is traveling to the north-west of England for an audit, and he is not pleased since he will be the one audited instead of being the auditor. He wakes up early and goes for a walk on the promenade to capture some pictures. After breakfast, he packs and leaves his house for Warrington without sat nav, so he has to use his phone. He decides to take a detour to visit the St Mary and All Saints church in Fotheringhay, where Mary Queen of Scots was imprisoned and executed. Ian takes a few snaps before heading to Titchmarsh, where he visits the local church and takes some pictures of the paintings inside. After a brief stay, he continues on his journey, and his phone tells him he should reach Warrington by 4:00 p.m.

Ian’s friend Teresa lives in Warrington, so he visits her for an hour before receiving a call from someone he is supposed to meet. The person advises him to hurry since heavy snowfall is expected, and Ian drives to his golf resort hotel, where he almost runs out of fuel. The last mile was the scariest since the road was slippery due to snow. Ian arrives safely at the hotel, ready for dinner.

  • Northamptonshire’s St Mary the Virgin Church in Titchmarsh

St Mary the Virgin, Titchmarsh, Northamptonshire

Ian is on the road again, heading to head office for an audit. Despite not wanting to go as he would be the one being audited, he sets off on a cold but bright day. Jools drops him off on the promenade so he can take some snaps before picking up the car, which unfortunately is smaller than he was hoping for. He programs his phone for directions and heads to Warrington to visit a former colleague before continuing on to Fotheringhay Castle, where Mary Queen of Scots was imprisoned and executed. Ian takes shots of the beautiful St Mary and All Saints church, the parish church of the House of York. He then drives through Oundle and Titchmarsh before making his way to Warrington.

After a delay due to a crash on the M6, Ian finally arrives in Warrington to visit his friend, Teresa. She lives on the other side of town, so Ian has to press on further north before finally reaching her home. They chat for a while, but then Ian gets a call from someone he is supposed to be meeting, informing him that heavy snow is falling, and he should get there sooner rather than later. So Ian says his goodbyes and sets off for the golf resort where he will be staying, 16 miles away.

The snowfall makes the final six miles of Ian’s journey very difficult, and he even ignores the warning light to get to the hotel safe and sound. Finally, he arrives at the gatehouse marking the entrance to the golf club and parks in the first space he sees.

  • “Northamptonshire’s St. Mary the Virgin Church in Titchmarsh”

St Mary the Virgin, Titchmarsh, Northamptonshire

The writer starts his trip early in the morning for the audit of his office in the UK. He is not particularly interested in going, as he will be audited instead of being an auditor. His wife drops him off and he picks up a Toyota Yaris with no sat nav. He visits a former colleague who lives near St. Helens in Warrington. He then goes to Fotheringhay Castle in Northamptonshire, the place where the Scottish queen Mary was imprisoned and executed. The church there is a 15th-century church that was once the parish of the House of York, including King Richard III. The church has two House of York tombs or mausoleums.

He decides to visit more churches on his way to Warrington. He passes through Oundle and Titchmarsh. He takes shots of wall paintings inside the churches and snaps close-ups of the windows. Not much of interest is inside, so he hurries back to the car.

As he drives, he notices that it has started to snow. He drives through Coventry and a toll road where he stops for half an hour before continuing. He is delayed for an hour on the M6 before he reaches Teresa’s house on the other side of Warrington. She has two large dogs that love to be inside, and they take up all the floor space in the kitchen. After visiting for an hour, he drives through heavy snow to reach his resort – a golf resort – where he has dinner and settles in for the night.

  • Northamptonshire’s St. Mary the Virgin Church situated in Titchmarsh

St Mary the Virgin, Titchmarsh, Northamptonshire

Ian is on his way to Warrington for an audit and is not particularly excited as he will be the one being audited this time around. He wakes up early, and Jools drops him off on the prom so he can take some snaps before picking up the car. He heads to the car hire place, where he was given a Toyota Yaris instead of the usual larger car he requests. He loads up the car, says goodbye to his cats and hits the road.

Ian does not have a sat nav, so he has to use his phone. Before heading to the hotel, he decides to visit the church where Mary Queen of Scots was imprisoned and executed. Although he has to turn up the music to drown out the sound of the struggling engine, he is making good time. He arrives at St Mary and All Saints and takes some photos. Next, he visits Titchmarsh, a very picturesque village, but unfortunately, the church is not of great interest. Ian is then on his way to Warrington, but due to a crash, he is delayed by an hour.

When Ian finally arrives at his friend’s house in Warrington, he talks with her for an hour before receiving a call from a guy he is supposed to be meeting later. Heavy snow is falling, and Ian decides to head to the golf resort where he will be staying. The final mile is particularly scary as the snow is slippery, and Ian’s fuel warning light comes on.

Ian finally arrives at the golf resort and settles in for the night.
