St Mary the Virgin, Titchmarsh, Northamptonshire

Ian had to go to Warrington, UK for an audit but he wasn’t keen on being audited himself. He woke up early and packed his bags. Jools dropped him off on the promenade so he could take some photos before picking up his rental car. It was a bright but cold day with snow in the forecast. Ian had planned to visit his former colleague who lived in St Helens on the way to the hotel. He put her address in his phone and set off on the long drive. On the way, he passed by Fotheringhay Castle, the place where Mary Queen of Scots had been imprisoned and executed. Being fond of history, he decided to stop and take some photos of St Mary and All Saints Church that served as the parish church of the House of York, including Richard III.

Ian then decided to visit any interesting church he found on the way to Warrington but ended up passing by two churches in Oundle without a second glance. He finally stopped at Titchmarsh, where he saw a church painted with Victorian murals. Ian took pictures and then resumed his journey. His friend, Teresa, was not home when he arrived in Warrington, so he had another break on the way. It was snowing heavily by the time he reached the resort, where he had booked his stay.

The final mile of the journey was the scariest for Ian because of heavy snowfall and slippery roads. He parked in the first available spot and went inside for dinner.

Ian has to travel to Warrington, UK, for an audit at the head office. He is not pleased as he will be one of the audited employees. He wakes up early, and while Jools goes for a swim, he packs his bags. He looks forward to seeing actual snow once he reaches Manchester. Jools drops Ian off on the promenade so he can take a walk and photographs before picking up the rental car. The rental place is not open yet, but a few minutes later, a man arrives to let Ian in. He is given a Toyota Yaris, which he is not pleased about. He connects his phone, and his Apple music store starts playing music.

Ian remembers seeing a short documentary about Mary Queen of Scots being imprisoned at Fotheringay Castle in Northamptonshire, and he decides to make a detour. Ian presses on to the village of Fotheringay, where he visits St Mary and All Saints church- the parish church of the House of York. He crosses over the bridge and drives into the village where he takes some photos of the church. The church is 15th century and is in its Perpendicular finest.

Ian’s friend lives on the other side of Warrington, so Ian has to travel further north before heading east. Ian says his goodbyes and directs himself to the hotel. The final mile of Ian’s journey is very scary due to the excess snow and a fuel warning light that has just turned on. However, Ian manages to arrive safely.
