Birmingham Heritage Week Open Working day at Bournville Parish Church: St Francis of Assisi.

Numerous buildings in Bournville Village ended up open on the heritage open working day on Saturday 11th September 2021.

First I went to Bournville Village Major College. then the Quaker Friend’s Conference Property, and lastly Bournville Parish Church (St Francis of Assisi Church).

Accomplished 1925, by W Alexander Harvey. Brick with least stone dressings Roman
tile roof with Lombardic eaves cornice. In a spherical-arched design and style. Basilican in
system with apses east and west, narrow lean-to aisles and north and south porches.
Granite arcade coluans whose capitals are alternately carved and unoarved. 6 bays,
the aisle window and couplet to every single bay. Excellent woodwork in the stalls. South
chapel of 1966. The church types a team with the Parish Hall to which it is
bodily connected on the left.

The South Chapel was by Laurence and Joyce Cadbury in memory of their youngsters, Julian, Anthea and Lindsay in 1966.

First I went to Bournville Village Main Faculty. then the Quaker Friend’s Assembly Dwelling, and last but not least Bournville Parish Church (St Francis of Assisi Church).

chapel of 1966. The church kinds a group with the Parish Hall to which it is
physically linked on the still left.
