Thuya trees mature on the mid-Western coastline of Morocco and so, in Essaouira, a person of the local specialities is thuya carving. This showroom we entered off of a slender “road” (just one of the many pedestrian only alleys we wandered down) and the storefront gave absent very little about the measurement of the store it was hiding! This spot was Big! Had rows and rows of shelving piled high with thuya wood parts. Everything together with lamps, tables, chests, games, and bins of each size and form.
The wooden working “studio” was also hooked up and we viewed the craftsmen coaxing superb particulars out of bits of wood.
