The artist built a sewing box and carved a knotwork design, possibly inspired by the Book of Kells or a medieval reliquary. The design proved challenging because of a weak joint/hinge point at the top. Similar designs exist without this issue, and the artist discovered that the sewing box design itself resembled the reliquary.

Woods made use of claro walnut, figured birch sides, ebony knob with tagua nut inlay.
(the knob is ebony turned inlay with tagua nut and turned once again)
