The Chapel of Thomas Person
Located in Terrific Maze Pond, Southwark, SE1 1YZ the Chapel of Thomas Dude was crafted in 1774-77 to the layouts of Richard Jupp as an further wing. The first building established in 1721. There is a statue of Thomas Male, made in 1779 by John Bacon. The 3 stained glass windows commemorate William Hunt, Fellas Hospital’s next most benefactor. There are a amount of mural memorial panels of mosiac, these were designed by James Powell in 1904.
The inside is virtually square and has two galleries supported by painted blue columns. The sanctuary has a marble surround to the arch, by Louis Osman in 1956. The total inside has a distinct Georgian design, which is contrasted by the darkish Edwardian woodwork.
All in all, charming chapel to pay a visit to.
