    A wonderful 1970/71 McDonnell Douglas Corp. artist’s thought of their ‘Phase B’ shuttle thought, either delivering and/or deploying some form of first aid/crisis-health care module to the stricken craft in the reduced ideal. Take note the gaping hole, possible triggered by the careless, flagrant/arrogant & what really should be, prohibited steps of the Soviet Union/Russia, no matter of whether or not intentional or “accidental”. Also note the clear ‘observation dome’ of the damaged ship, with what appears to be “Space Ghost” seeking out at the procedure. I see no Remote Manipulator Program (RMS), so I’m assuming the rescue module either has its have propulsion/mind-set maneuvering method, or that it’s been erected/rotated into position, but stays hooked up to the orbiter, which will maneuver to dock it with the damaged automobile.
    Lastly, thanks to the excellent Top secret Assignments Discussion board internet site, the orbiter can be more precisely identified as “Configuration 176 C”…I assume. Specifically thanks to consumer flateric’s June 4, 2007 put up, as extracted from AIAA paper 78-1469, “Space Shuttle Orbiter Configuration Scenario History”, offered at the AIAA Plane Systems AND Technological know-how Convention, Los Angeles, California, August 21-23, 1978.
