Slab made from southern yellow pine joist from a grape transfer, railroad depot, in Skeneatteles (finger lakes location ny), deconstructed and salvaged by ReUse Action (reuseaction.com) in Buffalo NY. Barn probably was developed approx 1880s or 90s…and prior to wine grew to become so essential (1930s) it was likely utilized for other generate.
Making was rebuilt on a contemporary inner composition, and surplus lumber ( extensive 2 and 3x joists) was salvaged employed in this table slab, bought and utilized for other initiatives. The joists and beams are previous-progress southern yellow pine…as tricky as rock, and fragrant and densely grained….and gorgeous when completed with satin varnish. It has numerous holes and gouges that I meticulously fill with marine epoxy.
Base was built of black fuel pipe. Completed with flat black paint and antiqued. Leveler toes ended up personalized desined and turned from oak from a different barn (I dont personally like flanges or pipe caps for ft and required to structure a better leg foot).
Utilized now as a meeting desk by an architecture firm. Its intended to be utilized with stools or as stand up.
