    Italian Chapel

The Italian Chapel is a fantastic very little Catholic Church found on Lamb Holm in the Orkney Islands. It was crafted throughout WWII by Italian POWs who in which housed on the Island whilst they where set to function making the Churchill Obstacles to the East of Scapa Flow.
It was developed out of minimal supplies gifted to the POWs by the construction organization Balfour Beatty (who I get the job done for) who they where aiding to create the limitations. The partitions and aspects which search like tiles and woodwork in the pic are all hand painted on plasterboard. It seriously is a superb minor position which feels significantly additional sincere and religious that the substantial Cathedrals and Basilicas of Religions I have frequented all around the environment.
I questioned authorization to use a tripod in the workplace… the lady looked at me oddly and the other woman said its soo pleasant you requested… most people today you should not trouble and just bash on! I waited patiently while vacationers visited (not that I wasn’t a vacationer both… but you know what I necessarily mean)… ahead of I Gould get the quick min to established up and take my 2 sec publicity. Just a lens … no filters… invested my time concentrating on lining the shot appropriately and making sure my tripod was useless centre so the lines converged very well and every little thing appears to be symetrical.

  • Sculpture Designer SDB Creates “Red Star Hibiscus Bathing” Fairy Sculpture with Visible Tattoo, Crafted by Sean Broadbent.

The back of the Fairy sculpture entitled Red star hibiscus bathing showing her tattoo by SDB Designs sculpted by Sean Broadbent

SDB Designs, created by Sean Broadbent, is selling an exquisite sculpture called RED STAR HIBISCUS BATHING. This sculpture was inspired by his girlfriend’s fascination with fairies, unicorns, and the mythical world. It took Sean Broadbent four years to create this masterpiece, which is sculpted from tulip wood, ebony, mahogany, cherry, and silver.

While walking through Kew Gardens with his girlfriend, Sean Broadbent’s mind focused on how fairies blend into their surroundings. This led to the creation of RED STAR HIBISCUS BATHING, which has a long red and black hair that is pulled into the shape of a hibiscus. Her body has the distinctive pattern of green heartwood and white sap, and her cascading flora tattoos represent the circle of life in ebony. The sculpture perfectly blends into its environment as though it was part of nature itself.

    Time to Fly

A Happy New Yr to all of my Flickr contacts and pals. I have relished sharing my photographs and commenting on yours above the decades.

As 2017 finishes, I did one thing I not often, if ever, do, and checked my stats web page. I was impressed to obtain that, over the yrs, my Photostream has, a person way or one more, captivated around one particular and a 50 % million views. I have experienced close to 60 pics in Discover, a person of which truly built it to #1. I have painstakingly included in excess of 4 thousand tags to my photos, and also in excess of two thousand geotags. All in all, Flickr has been, and carries on to be, a fantastic way to share my adore of photography with some others who have a very similar enthusiasm.

All of that mentioned, 2017 was a quite long year. In addition to a number of personal problems, the 365 Challenge meant that I was carrying my digicam everywhere for the whole period. It was each a pleasurable and instructive endeavor, but it has also remaining me sensation like a split is in buy…

Even though I hope to put up pics from time to time, I really don’t consider I’ll be everywhere close to as energetic on Flickr in 2018 as I was in the 12 months earlier. I am going to choose some time to do some woodwork, attract some shots, and write some poems. I may perhaps even reacquaint myself with film pictures. It is a medium which calls for a slower tactic, but which, I come to feel, gives a little something genuinely magical in return. It is one thing uniquely human and tied to endurance and uncertainly and opportunity that I have nonetheless to completely experience in the digital realm.

So, I’m finishing off with a somewhat blurred graphic of a Bohemian Waxwing taking flight. A hundred, or so of these frequented my lawn these days and while I received some technically excellent shots, I found the blurred graphic of the bird in flight to be, perhaps, the ideal reflection of my interior thoughts at this time. With all that claimed, as soon as once more, Happy New 12 months, and superior luck to all of you in the months in advance. I hope you continue on to share your often outstanding, insightful, inventive and inspiring shots. Love your times, and with any luck , we will face each and every other on Flickr from time to time in the potential.

“Sault Ste. Marie (/ˈsuː seɪnt məˈriː/ SOO-seint-ma-REE) is a town on the St. Marys River in Ontario, Canada, near to the Canada–US border. It is the seat of the Algoma District and the 3rd major city in Northern Ontario, immediately after Sudbury and Thunder Bay.

The Ojibwe, the indigenous Anishinaabe inhabitants of the region, simply call this place Baawitigong, that means “position of the rapids.” They made use of this as a regional conference spot through whitefish time in the St. Mary’s Rapids. (The anglicized kind of this identify, Bawating, is employed in institutional and geographic names in the area.)

To the south, throughout the river, is the United States and the Michigan city of the similar title. These two communities were being just one city right until a new treaty following the War of 1812 proven the border concerning Canada and the United States in this spot at the St. Mary’s River. In the 21st century, the two metropolitan areas are joined by the Global Bridge, which connects Interstate 75 on the Michigan side, and Huron Road (and former Ontario Secondary Freeway 550B) on the Ontario side. Delivery site visitors in the Good Lakes program bypasses the Saint Mary’s Rapids by using the American Soo Locks, the world’s busiest canal in conditions of tonnage that passes by means of it, though smaller leisure and tour boats use the Canadian Sault Ste. Marie Canal.

French colonists referred to the rapids on the river as Les Saults de Ste. Marie and the village title was derived from that. Hundreds of years in the past, this slowed delivery website traffic, requiring an overland portage of boats and cargo from one lake to the other.
