The large challenge of a photowalk—besides looking at other folks take improved pictures than you—is finding your equipment down to something you can dwell with. This means no tripod, no panoramic mount, and a few lenses. When you see a panoramic you’d like, even the 14mm just can’t include it all sufficient to get both equally foreground fascination and the cloud designs in the sky that captivated you to the scene.

This vertical panoramic was shot to make a symmetric look at. The roundness and symmetry of this small island was crying to be brought out. I employed a whole lot of overlap in buy to offer with exposure variants and allow the sew details to be selected. Given that PTMac kept crashing, the real remaining merge of enblended photos was completed by hand. I cropped out my foot (and component of the sky in compensation). I’ll have to appear again when the lights is much less flat.

You could be curious what Topaz Simplify is performing there. Just a trick I’m seeking out of making an attempt to smooth some of the roughness in the water made by stitching with no disrupting the coloration composition in the water. I attempted Topaz Clean up, but it’s algorithms make me barf.

    See Large on Black.

    Truffle fries with parmesan

The writer of this blog post, titled “Melanie’s Birthday,” discusses their recent visit to Mission Beach Cafe in San Francisco, California for a celebratory meal. They specifically mention the truffle fries with parmesan, which they photographed using their Olympus E-P2 camera with a M. Zuiko Digital ED 14-42mm lens. The resulting image was processed using Adobe Camera RAW, nik Sharpener Pro (for raw presharpening), Topaz DeNoise 3, nik Color Efex Pro (for adjusting contrast and warmth), and BorderFX. The settings used were 1/13 second shutter speed, ISO 1200, and 14mm focal length (equivalent to 28mm on a full-frame camera).

The writer notes that they wish the E-P2 had a “food shot” mode like their Sony camera, which would help preserve colors and contrast for post-processing. They also provide a link to the original photograph, which may require them to add the viewer as a contact on the platform.

It all started off when I made a snide comment about how sipping her tea helps make her appear retarded in shots.

Taking pictures notes: Strangely, the only time I got the focusing correct with this camera was when Marie was creating mad faces. Calculated depth of area is 3/4 of an inch.

Processing notes: This is me submit-processing the shades to make it look like Ryan took the picture. -)

Testing out a Joe McNally’s variation of my “camera steady” handheld grip. It only works for still left eye dominant people today applying “motorized” (added large) bodies, and calls for resting part of the physique versus your still left shoulder. I shot this into a mirror and flipped the graphic in submit.

The Nikon symbol is blurry simply because the computed depth of industry is only 2 inches (1 meter + reflection = 2 meters). I wish I could have employed a smaller sized aperture, but I couldn’t. I do like that you can read through the lettering on the lens confront when viewed at 100% to know that this was truly tack sharp. Heck you really should have no issues seeing the dent in the lens hood. -)

Computed obtain? 2.5 stops previous the “shake limit.” I was also employing M-UP manner when taking pictures in get to make positive mirror slap wasn’t portion of the equation.

I also analyzed out the Aperture Catapult/DxO workflow. It labored great apart from for the fact that I experienced to use Pacifist to install Catapult (since the installer stored crashing), DxO however has the worst UI possible (truly it is only gotten worse and even locked up on me), and I was having no opinions from the Catapult UI (the clicks labored while). C’est la vie.

DxO was utilized to colour accurate and the regular lens corrections. The coloration map I applied was Fuji Velvia (an aged trick from my movie days… this movie exaggerates skin tones and darkens shadows). The motive that the description appears overcorrected is that most of all those are normal post-DxO steps I approach on functioning when making use of the Nikon D3. Nothing at all to see here… move on.
