An wonderful small jewelbox of a museum/residence/assortment. Sir John Soane was an architect and a collector in 1850’s London – who acquired 3 Townhouses on Lincoln’s Inn Fields and transformed them into a treasurebox stuffed with victorian splendors (cameos, sculptures from antiquity, a sarcophogus, Turner paintings, mechanical clocks, remarkable library, etcetera)….
…when using all form of architectural magic
(inspiring use of mirrors, delectable woodwork, wrong partitions hiding vertical panels of artwork…variety of like hunting through a poster rack, shifting scales, crypts, skylights, vistas, abundant hues)
I went as soon as to get all my longwinded depth soaking + sketching out of the way…
….and when to share with good friends + family members – was glad they confirmed it can be not just to be beloved by designers/architects.
(the Surgical Museum is throughout the very little park here as well- but you would have to have a intellect of steel to take both equally in on the exact same working day)
