“This constructing is most very likely 1 of the oldest constructions at Hancock Shaker Village. Initially a farmhouse belonging to a transform, the developing has developed all around the primary property, but it however retains its massive kitchen area fireside and fireplace in the centre of the very first flooring.
The Laundry & Equipment Shop is a distinctive structure even in just a Shaker village, as it served as a store for the joint use of each brothers and sisters. The brethren had a woodworking shop and the sisters experienced a laundry, both of those making use of the 1858 water turbine as a electrical power source. The drinking water turbine and its belt-driven system have been restored and run a number of machines in the woodworking shop.”
