Tam Significant student Sammy Whitely demonstrates off ‘Maker Field’, the animatronic metropolis he aided style and design and make with his class. I am working with builder Geo Monley on new maker classes — and he is also coaching me on my woodworking jobs in his condition-of-the-artwork woodshop at Tam Large School in Mill Valley.

Geo opened the woodshop for us all through spring break, and assisted me make a ‘mortise and tenon’ joint for the cell cart I am making in his ‘You Can Construct It’ workshop. We will use this cart to showcase the City of the Upcoming that our middle university college students are developing with each other in our ‘maker art’ classes.

With each other, we are developing a new method termed Tam Makers, to give a community makerspace and maker programs — and grow a neighborhood of makers, learners and instructors in South Marin.
