These are wonderful, common wood boats. We typically make them with a fir or purpleheart stem and keel, mahogany transom (found in this photograph) and western red cedar planking. The boats are ordinarily a two yr venture for us.
The Northwest College of Wood Boatbuilding is found in Port Hadlock WA and is a non-public, accredited non-profit vocational university.
