    A Pilliod brand machinist chest my father saved his instruments in all through WWII, which I restored a handful of yrs back. I now use it to retail store some of my check out selection. Fully refinshed oak, dyed, stained and grain loaded. numerous coats of padded on shellac. The end is easy as glass. All new components from purchased new from Gerstner.

    Walnut Gift Box

    I designed this walnut present box for my sister’s impending marriage. She had asked for a box significant sufficient for gift envelopes, with a hasp for a heart-formed lock she’d discovered, and a significant slot in the lid for company to fall their envelopes by.

    The box was made from walnut drops and offcuts from my day work at a home furnishings manufacturing facility, and capabilities cope-and-stick framing with v-groove panels. The major is a glued up slab of walnut, and the ft are the merchandise of a whole lot of experimentation with my router.

    Almost everything was sanded to a 220-grit, and finished with a mix of orange oil, mineral oil, and carnauba wax.

    When the box is open up, one can see the couple’s names woodburned into the inside of of the lid.
