Restoration of two Hull & Barnsley Railway teak-bodied coaches is getting carried out in conjunction with Hull College or university at a number of websites throughout the Metropolis. We obtained an unique tour of the progress so much from the project supervisor who is collaborating with my Son at the Hull Maritime job. Pupils are understanding conventional woodworking and joinery expertise whilst supporting to restore these traditionally significant autos.
Coach No. 58 was constructed by Birmingham Railway Carriage & Wagon Co Ltd (BRCW) and is a 56ft bogie vehicle for convey targeted traffic although Coach No.1 of 1868 is a 4-wheel brake 3rd and the earliest H&BR mentor to survive. It was marketed to the Taff Vale railway, absorbed by the GWR and shaped section of a dwelling in Wales right until rescued in the 1990s.
