    chair and table

Just begun woodworking and was checking out a lumber supplier to try out hardwood for the initial time. Three massive planks of cherry stood out. Two turned the prime of the trestle table in this set. The third plank was terribly split. That single plank became these two items. Metalwork by nearby blacksmith, Bear Mountain Forge.
I’d examine an report about Nakashima, whence the two wenge butterfly joints (little darkish bow ties). The butterfly in the desk is ideal the 1 in the chair, not so a lot. Beginner’s miscalculation.
I located the table joinery quite tough. Very first routed the tongue&groove joints with further long tongues, then slice absent most of the more length of the tongues to leave 3 as a result of-tenons for the a few sq. holes at every single conclude of the top.
The only obstacle in the chair was handcut dovetails at about 96 levels – and the silly, pretentious butterfly.
All the furnishings in the photograph was created right here – money saved goes to film and developer!

shibori dye tapestry frame May 2019

In short, the content is about the early stages of a frame for a dye project that was made out of scraps of yellow pine. The frame was made with care and precision with the corners being biscuited and clamped. The wood was also book-matched for interesting grain effects, and the final finish was water-based polyurethane. Ultimately, the content showcases the skill and craftsmanship that went into creating the frame for the dye project.
