I felt a need to go again to craft and make a stool. I had the strategy that I would use some of the items that I have learnt doing collage and assemblage. Particularly that matters can have texture and be asymmetrical and not normally great. I tried this by using unique woods, then different processes for creating the legs: a single leg turned on a lathe, 1 carved with axe and chisel, 1 about planed with a scrub plane (ie, not smoothed), just one spokeshaved into aspects and in two distinct woods. I also tried to vary the angles of the legs to inject some individuality but only partially succeeded in this (they are typically very similar angles). Then I experimented with the tenon finishes, trying diverse wedging strategies. I feel the following version could be far more asymmetrical. I did all the tenons with adjustable and hollow augers.
