Here is my overlap. I selected which conclusion overlapped on the exterior to very best match up the ray fleck patterns listed here. I sanded a several situations to hide that darkish line of overlap, but only managed to go it over. I imagine it might really be the layer of glue. I made use of Titebond III, which dries darkish. I will know that for upcoming time. As it stands, this isn’t going to bother me on a simple utility lazy susan, but if this have been some high art, I would in all probability be annoyed.

Here’s a small bit of a clearer shot of the recess beneath. I feel in practice, no one will see it, but it is really a slight little bit of detail past a straightforward, straight walled edge. This was much less a design and style conclusion, and more a want to raise the band up even more to current additional of it as a rim around the floor of the lazy susan. I had been setting up to figure out a way of planing the base up to satisfy the base of the edge band/rim, but you should not come to feel I have to have to now. I assume it seems to be great. It was a large amount of work to chisel and sand all the glue out of there, while. I am a bit of a sissy about cleanup operate. It’s monotonous 🙂
