Dawn at Treasure Island
The weather was miserable on Saturday but on the off prospect that it would obvious up right before sunrise, I drove down to Treasure Island and attempted my hand at outside photography in above a year. For me, environment up in the pre-dawn for a photograph at sunrise is chicken soup for the soul.
The solar only broke as a result of for a few minutes, but it was sufficient to choose this photograph. By the time I jockeyed my camera for a satisfactory angle, I identified out I was location up in the h2o!
Considering the fact that this lens can not mount a ND filter, I stopped down as a lot as feasible (f/22), set the ISO as reduced as attainable (LO -1EV) and then took 10 exposures averaged in digicam (multi-exposure mode), to emulate what a ND 1.2 would have finished at f/16.
There is a little cheat below. In purchase to capture most of the sky and the horizon the way I desired, I experienced to swipe section of the rocks in the foreground from a unique (but identically established) publicity, technically this tends to make this a vertical panorama, but since the merge issue is in the (multi-exposure integrated) drinking water, I just blended them and avoided nearly anything fancy.
There was an insane sum of dust on the senor and lens factor. Because of this, I had to use the mend instrument liberally. A digital quality ND introduced again the rocks in the foreground and authorized the sky to be saturated and nevertheless maintain contrast. The rest of the postprocessing was finished to give it that postcard look and then toned back a little bit. u-factors have been used to maintain the rock out of shadow and the buildings in North Beach front (the only matter in direct mirrored daylight) from getting absolutely blown out.
