    Outhaul with 3:1 obtain, enables adjustment of foot tension (draft) of sail. Snap shackle at clew lets use of outhaul on reefed sail, too.

    The forward mainsheet block is moved about 12″ forward to permit space on the boom for reefing, you can see the holes in the prime of the boom (under the clew block) for the first placement of the eyestrap. Also, the aft mainsheet block is reeved to the increase end to allow for the clew to freely slide in and out the increase, instead of attaching it at the clew lashing as for every original program.

    The new position of that forward mainsheet block may be a bit of a head-banger (or neck-wrapper?), so I swapped the mainsheet blocks at traveler and boom close, which only offers 2:1 buy. I am going to swap back and attempt it with the original 3:1 arrangement, my “sheeting hand” could possibly like the lighter grip afforded by the elevated buy!
