    In this article I’ve by now completed the glue-up on the base panel, which I chose to do 1st, as it was the uglier of the two. I chose the greatest-matched designs for the prime, leaving lesser-matches for the bottom panel. I figured as it was my 1st try at biscuit becoming a member of, and gluing up larger sized panels from smaller sized planks, I really should make any mistakes on the uglier piece that I could disguise greater. I did not make any mistakes, though, and moved on to the prime. You can see the leading panels have their biscuit slots reduce out. I am ready to glue them up.

    This is the prime of the base panel. Most of this will be concealed by the rest of the Television stand itself, and the VCR stuff. Even however the grains, and hues are a bit all-around, it however appears to be like great. I sanded it with my outdated DeWalt random orbit sander, and took the time to swap by way of coarse, medium, and fantastic grits, and it came out smooth as silk, major, and bottom. Acquiring jointed the planks using my router, break up fence, and a straight bit, the joint lines themselves are wholly invisible.

    Still left to dry… the handmade knotty pine flat bars worked out definitely very well (for this, and several subsequent panels). The blue is masking tape holding parts of wax paper all-around the mating surfaces of the flat bars. Later, I would master I could merely lay wax paper wherever essential, and get out of a number of time-consuming methods, attaching, and tearing cost-free wax paper, ahead of, and right after just about every glue-up.

    I did my glue-ups at the end of each and every day’s get the job done, and left them all every to dry overnight. The bonds are unbelievably sturdy with the wood glue + biscuit joints.
