Birmingham Heritage 7 days Open Working day at Bournville Parish Church: St Francis of Assisi.

Numerous buildings in Bournville Village were being open on the heritage open day on Saturday 11th September 2021.

1st I went to Bournville Village Most important Faculty. then the Quaker Friend’s Conference Residence, and last but not least Bournville Parish Church (St Francis of Assisi Church).

Done 1925, by W Alexander Harvey. Brick with minimum amount stone dressings Roman
tile roof with Lombardic eaves cornice. In a round-arched design. Basilican in
strategy with apses east and west, slim lean-to aisles and north and south porches.
Granite arcade coluans whose capitals are alternately carved and unoarved. Six bays,
the aisle window and couplet to each individual bay. Superb woodwork in the stalls. South
chapel of 1966. The church varieties a group with the Parish Hall to which it is
bodily linked on the remaining.
