Angsila is a picturesque fishing village located about eight kilometres from Chonburi City in Thailand. It is known for its various products made from rock, including pestle and mortars, artistic giant sculptures, lamps, and furniture. Along with such products, Angsila is also famous for its seafood products such as dried shrimps, pickled clams, shrimp paste, sweetened fish, and dry squid. Visitors can buy fresh oysters and mussels from the nearby farms at Saphan Pla Ban Angsila or the fresh seafood market, which is around 130 years old.

The fresh seafood market is situated near a large car park, making it easy to reach by car or taxi. The market has numerous stalls selling stoneware and kitchen items along with fresh seafood products. Visitors can also find various restaurants nearby that are popular with both locals and tourists alike. The restaurants overlook the sea, and the scenic views across the bay make for a charming dining experience.

One of the major attractions in Angsila is the Chinese temple, also known as Thepsathit Phra Kiti Chalerm Chinese Shrine. The temple is located on the 3134 road in Angsila and is famous for its ornate temples and dragons adorning the pillars. The temple is decorated with various sculptures of dragons crawling with koi fish staring up at them. Visitors can also find a large fountain in the centre of the garden that many people use for taking photographs.

Another attraction in Angsila is the Sala Ruesi temple located on the Khao Sam Muk Hill or the Monkey Hill. The temple is home to many statues and Buddha images scattered around the grounds, along with wandering monkeys. Visitors can explore the smaller temples and structures that dot the area and marvel at the odd assortment of sculptures and creative designs.

Angsila was the first seaside resort in Thailand and has developed into a charming place for tourists to visit. Its history dates back to the time of King Rama IV, when the town was a major merchant port and a place for recovering patients suffering from various illnesses. Over time, the town has developed its seafood and rock industries, showcasing the best of local craftsmanship and culinary traditions.

In conclusion, Angsila is a beautiful and intriguing place to visit, with its unique rock products, fresh seafood, and scenic views. Its Chinese and Buddhist temples offer a glimpse into traditional Thai culture and its rich history as a royal resort town is an added bonus. A visit to Angsila is a must for anyone interested in exploring the authentic Thai lifestyle and experiencing the beauty of this charming fishing village.
