A person of the local Cub Scout businesses requested me to make their boys some Arrow of Mild plaques for their crossing around ceremony. I built some past 12 months from crimson oak, but this year’s Pack leaders preferred them created from walnut – great preference!

Apart from the walnut, I employed blue and yellow enamel paints and a crystal apparent enamel spray. A pair of brass hooks is hooked up to the bottom of every just one for the common arrow, and a pair of hanger components is on the back again of each individual at a hassle-free 16″ spacing.

I would been questioned some time back by my sons’ Cub Scout Pack Chief if I would be ready to make up a new Arrow of Light-weight display for the Cub Scouts’ crossing around ceremony.

This weekend, I slice down, thickness planed, and glued up three of the walnut plaques that had been recovered from the previous Chester Precision facility to make up the entrance of the new show I built. Right here, you can see that I am typically concluded with routing out the arrow and the sun’s rays. The piece is 42″ extended by 18″ tall.

Still to appear: insert cleats the the back again of the walnut facial area and make a gentle box to glow a glow through the cutout.

Think it’ll be completely ready in time for the crossing in excess of ceremony on 3/19?
