14mm calibration and Nokton aperture breakage

Final month I was using my Leica at MacWorld when all of a unexpected the aperture begun to behave strange. For some reason a blade inside the thing seems to have damaged get rid of from it is mount and pushed the other folks all-around. Now, at maximum aperture the lens appears like this.

This is a constrained version Voigtlander lens. Only 300 ended up made in a chrome physique.

I never have my flash all over so I had to hack a front light with each other utilizing my Litepanel in purchase to make the aperture blades noticeable. It was functioning lower on battery so I experienced to get rid of the warming gel which ruined teh shade harmony. I did not know exactly where to place it to lessen reflections off the glass floor. (I have better positioned shots, but they were misfocused.)

The postprocessing was just completed to stability the lights and carry out some of the definition and element in the aperture.

The change in saturation 1/3 of the way down is a bug in Aperture 2. export. The proper shade/saturation is the best 1/3. It appears to be like wonderful in the previews.

Another person needed to know what the accessory rangefinder lenshood appears like on the 35mm F1.2 NOKTON. The crimson glare is from the B+W IR slice filter since it is an M8.

Shooting notes: Just put the digital camera on my Domke bag and snapped a bunch of photographs. I wasn’t actually controlling for lighting so the light-weight was what came in by way of the window.

Certainly that is a Leicatime case on my M8. The pink glare on the entrance is the B+W 486 slash filter. It’s the chrome edition of the filter so it matches my lens. 🙂 BTW, I use my Nikon 52mm lens cap (for the 50 1.8D) as my lens cap for the combination.

Processing notes: I applied Topaz simplify on the glass of the entrance component to hide the dust.

I decided to consider a picture of my electronic bodies. It would have been good to place my LX1 in the frame given that it shares a lineage with my Leica, but I wanted it for the shot.

For some motive Panasonic Pictbridge only imports the JPEG, not the Raw. I’m much too lazy to go back and get the unique graphic, which is, much better than the imported one particular (it superior be, the file is 13x greater!). Are living and understand.

I did find out that the Aperture Raw has a a little distinctive interpolation (a number of considerably less pixels) than the Panasonic JPEG. it is also significantly less noisy and the shade is greater. Neat.

This was the initial photo I took with my D3. It took a large power of will to hold out right up until my lens arrived from B&H before I began taking photographs. The good news is Andrei is borrowing my 85mm f/1.4 so I experienced an excuse. (Many thanks Andrei for suggesting buydig.com for the camera—the wait around at B&H and Adorama was also extended).

I’m suitable up in opposition to the mirror but the lens has a 114º subject of check out! It was shot utilizing shutter precedence.

It was also an prospect to try Aperture 2. (I have not upgraded DxO and Aperture 1.x doesn’t assist Nikon D3 uncooked, however the operating process does). I like the improvements to the picture processing muchly. 🙂
