    Accidents IN AUCKLAND
    (BY TELEGRAPH.—PRESS Affiliation.) AUCKLAND, This Working day.. Mr. W. E. Hutchison, builder, of Epsom, was severely injured in a collision in between a motor-motor vehicle and lorry. His skull was fractured, and the brain severely lacerated. His situation is crucial. [5]

    Mr. W. E. Hutchison, one of Aucklands prominent citizens, has died from accidents been given in a motor accident very last Monday. Deceased was born in Derry, Ireland, 60 decades in the past, and arrived in Auckland by the Dover Castle, in 1875. He served an apprenticeship to the setting up trade, and then joined his father in that line of company. His agency erected some of the premier properties in Auckland. He was a outstanding Methodist, bowler, Freemason, and a former member of the Auckland City Council and the Auckland Harbour Board. [4]

    HUTCHISON , WILLIAM E., Builder and Contractor, Jervois Rd, Ponsonby. Mr Hutchison was born in Derry, Ireland in 1858 and educated at the Design School in that city. He arrived in Auckland on the 1st of September., 1875, by the ship “Dover Castle, ” and concluded his time as a builder less than Important Skinner. Mr Hutchison then joined his father in partnership, and the firm was acknowledged as Hutchison and Son. A large variety of personal residences and buildings ended up erected by the business, but upon the breaking out of the “boom” in Melbourne, the junior spouse went throughout to that city, and acted as foreman for a Melbourne company for some time. One particular his return to New Zealand he rejoined his father and has considering the fact that been engaged in carrying out big contracts, these as Hellaby’s store and freezing works, Shortland Road factory at Richmond and shop in Karangahape Street Huntly Hotel the massive brick additions to Messrs L.D. Nathan and Co.’s bonded store in Customs Street East the Albert Brewery in Elliot Avenue, and other properties way too many to mention. The company recently completed erecting the D.S.C. Block of Properties, including additions to the Central Resort, Queen and Victoria Streets. It also makes a specialty of private residences and villas. The firm’s steam joinery functions are in Lessen Hobson Street, wherever the store is equipped up with all the newest woodworking devices. Mr Hutchison has acted for some time as secretary of the Ponsonby Lodge of Freemasons, and is secretary of St John’s Wesleyan Church. He is also a member of the Ponsonby Bowling Club, and is a member of the council of the Auckland Technological Schools’ Association. [2]
