This is a action stool I manufactured for my daughter.
It is dependent on the design and style highlighted in Fine Woodworking Magazine (Jan/Feb 2009).
I manufactured the stool out of poplar, which I then bleached working with a pickling stain. I painted on some grass to give it a definite “kid’s stool” glimpse, and finished off with 4 coats of satin-finish polyurethane.
This was my initial attempt at hand-slice dove tail joints. The joints could have been cleaner, but in general I am joyful with the effects.
