The Churches Project, initiated in April 2015, was inspired by a desire to take more black and white photographs, initially of granite landscapes in Cornwall. However, after visiting Zennor Church, the founder realised that Cornwall’s churches and churchyards held far more photographic interest, particularly for black and white photography. The gritty exterior of the churches and the amazing colours in the woodwork, stonework, kneeler cushions, and stained glass windows contributed to their photographic appeal. Thus, the Churches Project was born.
St Symphorian’s Church is one of the classic Norman-style churches that the founder loves. The church was established in Norman times, with the tower being added in 1750. The Cornish Historic Churches Trust does excellent work in looking after Cornwall’s churches for future generations. If you would like to support them, please visit their website at www.chct.info.
All photographs and equipment are sponsored by www.inlinefilters.co.uk, the UK’s leading filter specialists serving the heavy-duty automotive industry. The founder of the Churches Project takes photographs purely as a hobby these days and is happy to share them with anyone who enjoys them or has a use for them. However, an accreditation would be appreciated, and if you benefit from them financially, a donation to www.sightsavers.org would be fantastic.
My images are reduced to around 512k before uploading to Flickr and Piktour. These are in the public domain, as mentioned above. Fine Art size downloads will be available to purchase through Piktour in due course. To view, please visit www.piktour.uk/galleries/buy/.
