The individual used 1/4″ poplar strips from Home Depot to construct a magazine box. They discovered that anything wider than the 2″-4″ strips they used was too heavily bowed for their purposes. They pieced together the strips edge-to-edge to create panels for the sides of the box, while a few 4″ panels served as the back, front, and bottom. They also had several piles of wood intended for a small box on the opposite side of the cabinet.
