Each individual calendar year, 1,500 children participate in our Alternate Routes program—a cellular artwork studio aboard renovated transit buses wherever kids master about artwork, style, and fabrication employing only hand tools, raw resources, and their imagination. Over 10,000 children age 5-11 have been on the bus since 1997, 50 percent of which are at-threat youth who participated at no cost thanks to grants and personal donations.
