I absolutely disassembled the plane and have been soaking all of the elements in white distilled vinegar. This part has been soaked for about thirty several hours. Effectively over 90% has been removed from the portion. I haven’t accomplished any sanding yet to clear away the remaining rust.
This portion was soaked alongside with all the screws and a brass knob that was intensely caked with crud. The knob and screws arrived out pristine! I’m looking at executing another 10 hour soak on this to see if it eliminates the remaining rust
I have been in a position to age the aircraft between 65 and 85 decades aged
