Seven gods (6 gods, 1 goddess) of good fortune

Seven gods (6 gods, 1 goddess) of good fortune

I’ve been performing on this venture for the final two or 3 weeks.

On my past journey to Japan I visited a pottery village (It used to, way back again in the working day, be a ninja village but when the base fell out of the ninja organization they took up pottery generating as a new line of work) and even though there bought these little statues of the seven gods of fortune (七福神).

I’ve been imagining, given that I have returned house, about the right location for them to reside. Very well, even though clearing trees from a path this summer season and digging up stumps I minimize this part and enable it dry out for a thirty day period or so. Then I sanded it down, ample that the grain reveals in sites but not so substantially that it looses the tough beauty that originally attracted me. Then I place on a for or 5 of coats on linseed oil letting it dry absolutely among each and every coat. Right after a different gentle sanding I gave it about ten coats of varnish. I turned and painted the legs and attached them with wood pins.

So! Now this is the household for: Hotei, my most loved, the god of abundance and fantastic well being, Jurojin, god of longevity, Fukurokuju, god of prosperity, verility pleasure and longevity, Bishamonten, scourge of evildoers and defender of the nation, Benzaiten , goddess of eloquence, tunes, art and magnificence, Daikokuten, god of earth, agriculture, farmers, wealth, commerce and trade and final but not the very least, Ebisu, god of fishermen, fantastic fortune, genuine labor, god of the ocean.
