This content describes the process of building a bench for a garage that allows for cars to park and for walkways to remain open. The bench was designed to incorporate a small concrete footer that runs around the base of the garage walls. The bench is 25″ deep, 6′ wide, and 48″ from the ground to the work surface. The bench uses 2×4 pine for the majority of the construction, with a few 2×2 furring strips. The surfaces of the bench are made from 3/4″ melamine laminated particleboard. The total cost of the project was $93.39, which includes the cost of all materials, taxes, and two boxes of 2.5″ drywall screws used in construction.
