The froe is an more mature resource generally made use of for riving ‘bolts’ of wood into shakes to be utilized on roofs.
In this graphic, I’m riving a little piece of wood into thin strips for use in wooden rings.
The froe was bought at an antique store. The tackle (extra afterwards) and mallet are both equally hickory.
