CBMM’s Climbing Tide boatshop system is a pilot initiative in collaboration with the YMCA of the Chesapeake. In November, 2015, the software commenced with one of two, six-week soon after-college boatbuilding periods offered to Talbot County 6th quality students.
The pilot classes have minimal participation, with the YMCA of the Chesapeake organizing registration and transportation from its Easton area.
Funded through philanthropic support, the system is intended to teach students basic boatbuilding capabilities in a welcoming, peaceful environment. The target of the software is to empower learners to develop a sense of self-self-confidence and pride, and facilitate mentorships with shipwright educators that will deliver steering and aid through this critical 12 months in their development.
The sessions include learning essential woodworking techniques and protection methods, with various get-home projects for individuals.
