The Church of St Corentine is a Norman Church from the 11th/12th century situated in Cury, Cornwall, UK. The church embodies the classic compact, low profile look of a Norman Church. In 2015, a photographer decided to start a project for taking more black and white photographs of Cornwall’s landscapes, but after visiting Zennor Church, he realized that Cornwall’s churches and churchyards held far more photographic interest for him. This sparked the creation of The Churches Project, where the photographer takes photographs of churches and churchyards, both inside and out. The Cornish Historic Churches Trust is an organization that looks after the beautiful Churches of Cornwall for future generations. The photographer’s photography and equipment are sponsored by Inline Filters, a filter specialist serving the heavy-duty automotive industry. The photographer’s portfolio website and blog are called Piktour, which means picture by a photographer in Cornwall. The images taken by the photographer are reduced to around 512k before uploading to Flickr and Piktour, and they are in the public domain, making them available to anyone who wants to use them. However, if someone benefits from them financially, the photographer requests that they make a donation to Sightsavers.org. In due course, a Fine Art Prints and Downloads section will be created on Piktour, but currently, images that are available for purchase can be accessed on the website. If the image someone is interested in is not available, there is an option to send a request to the photographer.
