A big group of us spent the early morning of 7 July 2019 at the house and assets of Keith and Sandy Logan. They live NW of Cochrane on a 35-acre parcel of land. The team split in half and took turns to look at Keith’s spectacular photography and outstanding woodwork and also to bio/blitz their land, to document all flora and fauna observed. We had been treated to espresso and delectable cake in Keith’s tremendous woodworking barn. We all agree – if you sit in a person of Keith’s wooden chairs, you may see that no chair could at any time be extra cozy – they are merely astounding!

Some persons saw a range of birds, though they were nearly all incredibly distant sightings. I believe the closest ended up a pair of Yellow-bellied Sapsuckers, feeding youthful that were in a tree cavity. I did deal with to get a shot of a Rose-breasted Grosbeak, much too.

All early morning, we have been followed around the backyard by the Logan’s two enormous pet dogs – two lovely, pleasant Newfoundland dogs, named Sally and Blueberry (?). What magnificent puppies these are! I believe food items will have to be on their head all the time. Every time anyone would sit and eat their lunch, either just one or both dogs would arrive about and stand or sit and seem longingly at what was currently being eaten. These kinds of sweet pet dogs.
I like to see their cats, far too. On prior visits, there were being 3 cats, but I will not know if they only have two now. What a stunning place they are fortuitous sufficient to phone ‘home’.
After lunch, we drove a short distance to another area, URSA, which stands for Universal Rehabilitation Service Company. Prior to non-gain URSA attained the spot, it used to belong to W.O.Mitchell, who utilized it as a retreat. We have been launched to Ben, who lives in W.O. Mitchell’s wonderful old cabin. Ben’s passion is building astounding steel sculptures and several of his performs are scattered on the land about the cabin.
